Friday, August 29, 2025 - Detectives from the DCI Nairobi Regional Office have arrested two women after they were found with a massive stash of counterfeit US currency.

Acting on intelligence, the officers staged a coordinated operation in Upper Hill where the suspects, Ifrah Ali Jeyte and Qamar Salat Abdi, were cornered.

A quick search led to the discovery of numerous bundles of fake $100 bills concealed in a handbag.

The true scale of the operation became clear after the notes were counted at the DCI Nairobi Area Headquarters, amounting to USD 560,000 (about Ksh 70 million).
