Ticking Time Bomb! Concerned Kenyan exposes how corrupt cops at JKIA are endangering national security over Ksh 100 bribes

Wednesday, June 18, 2025 - A concerned Kenyan has lifted the lid on a potentially catastrophic security loophole at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), alleging that corrupt police officers stationed at one of the main entrances are routinely accepting Ksh 100 bribes to let in vehicles, particularly taxis, without any form of security screening.

The whistleblower said he witnessed a taxi driver who was ferrying him to the airport handing Ksh 100 bribe to a police officer before being allowed into the airport without screening.

“In that moment, I was silent. But inside, I was shaken.Later, it hit me hard: What if it wasn’t me? What if it was someone with bad intentions? A weapon? Explosives? What if lives were lost - just because someone took a bribe worth less than a loaf of bread?” he wrote.

The revelation has sparked serious public concern, given JKIA’s status as a high-security international airport and a gateway for millions of passengers annually.
