Flying Coffins! Watch the moment Environment Principal Secretary FESTUS NG’ENO was involved in a chopper crash in Kericho (VIDEO)

Monday, October 12, 2026 - A helicopter carrying Environment Principal Secretary Festus Ng’eno and four other people crashed while attempting to take off at Kericho Golf Club.

A video from the crash scene shows a light utility helicopter lying severely damaged on a grassy field after what appears to have been a hard landing.

The aircraft's tail section was completely severed from the main fuselage, with the wreckage highlighting the severity of the incident.

Registration markings visible on the wreckage identified the downed chopper as 5Y-JESK, reportedly belonging to the Kenya Forest Service.

Emergency responders and bystanders gathered near the scene as efforts were made to assess the situation and assist those who had been on board.

The occupants were reportedly rushed to hospital following the crash and are said to be in stable condition.

The incident has sparked concern over aviation safety, particularly the condition and maintenance of helicopters operated by government agencies and parastatals.
