Thursday, March 19, 2026 - A motorist has raised concern over safety in Parklands-Westlands area after narrowly escaping a possible robbery incident late at night near a police station.
According to the account shared online, the motorist was
driving past the area at around 12:55 a.m near a roundabout close to Parklands
Police Station when he noticed an elderly man kneeling on a road bump and
appearing to beg for help.
Feeling concerned for the man’s safety in the middle of a
busy road at night, he stopped to check on him and briefly engaged in a
conversation.
However, moments later, he alleges that two individuals on a
motorbike approached the scene.
One of them reportedly alighted from the motorbike and
attempted to steal from him while pretending to pass by.
The motorist says he noticed the suspicious movement through
his side mirror and managed to avoid losing his phone.
He described the suspect as a young man wearing chains and rings.
