Wednesday, March 25,
2026 - Activist and presidential hopeful, Boniface Mwangi, has dismissed
claims that retired President Uhuru Kenyatta is funding the Tuko
Kadi voter registration campaign.
On Wednesday, March 25th, Mwangi responded to an
online user who alleged that campaign leader, Allans Ademba, had received
Ksh 20 million from the former Head of State.
The accuser further claimed that Mwangi and activist Hanifa
Adan were also on Uhuru’s payroll.
Mwangi challenged the user to provide evidence, defending
Ademba’s and Hanifa’s independence.
“Please put the evidence here. We all know Ademba has not
been paid, nor has anyone encouraged Gen Z to register.”
“Why don’t you post the evidence here and tag the DCI and
all media houses in your exposé?” Mwangi stated.
Mwangi also laughed off accusations that he was attempting
to hijack the Tuko Kadi movement after sharing a billboard featuring
his image alongside the campaign’s tagline.
“You people are upset because of my billboard? Whom did you
want me to put?”
“Here is my presidential campaign donation number. I will
put many more billboards,” he added.
Mwangi accused President William Ruto’s Government of
trying to undermine the voter registration drive by linking it to him.
He insisted that the campaign was about empowering Gen Z
voters.
“It’s a ploy by Ruto’s regime to discourage Gen Z from
registering to vote.
“They will register! Gen Z voters are 10 million strong! You
will keep on seeing me with Gen Zs shouting Ruto Must Go!” he reiterated.
The Tuko Kadi movement seeks to mobilize young Kenyans,
especially Gen Z, to register as voters.
Ademba has revealed that politicians have tried to sway him
to abandon the project, but he remains steadfast in his mission.
