Wednesday, December 24, 2025 - President William Ruto has delivered a festive message that blends tradition with youthful flair, capturing the spirit of the season while connecting with younger audiences.
In a video shared on December 24th, 2025, the
president wished Kenyans a Merry Christmas and a blessed 2026, sprinkling his
greeting with the viral Gen Z phrase “clock it.”
“Wakenya 2025, we clocked it. I wish you a merry Christmas
and a great and blessed 2026,” Ruto said, before reminding drivers to stay
cautious on the roads.
Beyond the cheer, Ruto emphasized road safety, urging
Kenyans to avoid unnecessary losses during the holiday rush.
His words echo warnings from the National Authority for the
Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA), which has raised concern over
the spike in accidents during festive celebrations.
According to NACADA, impaired driving is a leading cause of
holiday tragedies, turning vehicles into dangerous weapons when judgment is
clouded.
“The festive statistics are grim for a reason,” NACADA
noted, stressing that driving under the influence is not a mistake but a choice
that risks lives.
