Friday, November 7, 2025 - Residents of Yimbo village in Siaya County were left in awe after a man captured a rare migratory bird that had flown thousands of kilometers from Russia.
The bird had a tracking device fastened to it, with a label
bearing a Russian email address, ikar_research@mail.ru, and
serial number OT-25 s/n: 213259.
The device is believed to be part of an international bird migration research project used to monitor flight paths and environmental changes.
