Monday, October 13, 2025 - A viral video of controversial businessman and Kasipul Kabondo MP aspirant, Philip Aroko, receiving blessings at a local church has stirred intense reactions online.
In the clip, Aroko is seen kneeling before a pastor who
pours liquid from a bottle, sips it, and then splashes it over Aroko’s head
from his mouth, an unusual ritual that has left netizens divided.
Aroko, a former taxi driver, has been linked to the infamous
‘wash wash’ gold scam network and was among suspects briefly arrested in
connection with the murder of former MP Ongo’ndo Were in May.
As he campaigns for the upcoming by-election, Aroko has been
touring Kasipul Kabondo in a convoy of luxury vehicles, flaunting wealth
allegedly tied to fraudulent dealings targeting foreign investors.
His church appearance, seen by some as a bid for spiritual
legitimacy, has only intensified scrutiny over his controversial past and
flashy campaign tactics.
