2025 - A family in Jua Kali Phase 2 Estate in Kakamega is grappling with
unimaginable grief after the tragic death of their 21-year-old daughter, Wendy
Edda, who was waiting to join university.
Her decomposing body was discovered in a sewage pit just
meters from their home, three days after she went missing on Friday, October 24th.
Speaking through tears, Wendy’s mother, Lilia Lichina,
dismissed claims that her daughter fell into the pit by accident.
She believes Wendy was harmed and her body deliberately
dumped.
“But there was one man who was threatening, ‘I want to marry
you.’ This man lives up there, he was my first suspect.”
“When I told him that I haven't found my child, he just
laughed,” Lichina said.
She revealed that the man had made inappropriate advances
towards Wendy days before her disappearance, raising suspicions about his
involvement.
Wendy’s father, Levi Mate, expressed his heartbreak and
determination to seek justice.
“If he took advantage, it's like he got a wife.”
“It would have been better if he had mistreated her and left
her alive.”
“As for me, I am saddened, I leave it to God, but I must
follow all protocols to find justice,” he said.
The family is now working closely with authorities to
uncover the truth behind Wendy’s mysterious death.
