Wednesday, September 10, 2025 - A Kenyan woman has tragically lost her life in Reading, United Kingdom, after being stabbed multiple times by her spouse.
According to Thames
Valley Police, officers were called to an address on the A4 London Road near Regent Street
at around 2:35 p.m following reports of a stabbing.
“The woman was pronounced dead at the scene,” police
confirmed, adding that her spouse, a 29-year-old
man, has been
arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.
Further details indicate that the deceased, identified by
close contacts as Linner,
hailed from Kericho
County, Kenya.
She had recently graduated and had begun working in the UK
as a Social Care Worker.
“While in Kenya, she was a teacher at St Catherine, Kesses, before relocating to the United
Kingdom in late 2023. Her spouse, who is now the suspect, followed her shortly
after as a dependent,” a source who requested anonymity revealed.
The couple reportedly worked in the same care sector.
According to preliminary investigations, Linner had left their shared apartment after a
domestic dispute.
On Sunday, she returned with a friend to collect her
belongings, but another confrontation broke out.
It is believed her spouse then attacked her with a knife,
fatally wounding her.
Neighbours rushed to the scene after hearing screams.
The suspect allegedly fled by jumping out of a window
and was later found by police near a river, where he was reportedly attempting
to take his own life.
The incident has left the Kenyan diaspora community in the UK in shock as investigations continue.
