Thursday, July 17, 2025 - Former U.S. President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama have finally addressed persistent rumors about their marriage during a recent episode of the podcast IMO, hosted by Michelle's brother, Craig Robinson.
As Barack joined the siblings for a heartfelt conversation,
Craig joked about having both Obamas “in the same room,” to which Michelle
quipped;
“I know, because when we aren’t, folks think we’re
divorced.”
Barack responded with his signature humor, saying he often
misses these rumors entirely:
“Then somebody mentions it to me, and I’m like, ‘What are
you talking about?’”
Michelle, however, took a more reflective tone, shutting
down the speculation.
“There hasn’t been one moment in our marriage where I’ve
thought about quitting on my man,” she said.
“We’ve had hard times, fun times, adventures - and I’ve
become a better person because of the man I’m married to.”
She also reminded listeners that just because they’re not
constantly in the public eye doesn’t mean something is wrong.
“The fact that people don’t see me going out on a date with
my husband sparks rumors,” she said in a previous interview.
The power couple and parents to daughters Malia, 26, and
Sasha, 23, has been married since 1992.
