Monday, September 14, 2026 - In 2016, little-known Kisumu man Daggy Owila made headlines after splashing Ksh 1.2 million on his son’s birthday.

The three-day celebration took place at the Royal City Hotel in Kisumu to mark his son’s first birthday.

Back then, Owila was known to splash money in high-end Kisumu joints and parade an affluent lifestyle on social media.

Life has taken a turn for the worse over the years, with reports emerging that Owila has been reduced to a beggar.

He is fond of visiting dingy clubs in Kisumu and fleeing without paying his bills.

A club owner exposed him on social media after he consumed alcohol worth Ksh 3,000 and fled without paying.

Latest photos of Douglas appear to show that life has taken a toll on him, with claims that he has turned into an alcoholic.
