If you are fine with ads in between your streaming, Hulu with its live TV option is surely the best way to start your no-chords journey.
The basic plan offers you 95+ different channels, ranging from sports, news, and entertainment.
All in all, it’s a good option with a caveat: the interface of the live TV isn’t as user-friendly to me as it should be. It feels outdated and a little clunky. Can you live with that? Yes? Then Hulu with live TV is for you.
YouTube TV
This is a no-brainer option for those looking to upgrade their TV setup, especially if they love watching sports.
One of the best things I adore about YouTube TV is its intuitive user interface. It is very simple, and it has little to no learning curve. If you are busy most of the weekend, unlimited DVR recording has your back to watch it later.
YouTube TV doesn’t just offer sports channels, but also a wide variety of channels in diversified niches ranging from news to music. Oh, and it is available for almost every device; whether you prefer to watch TV on your bed with a laptop on your lap, you can watch it with YouTube TV, or have a proper sitting in your living room to watch TV, you can do that too.
It’s an all-around best live TV streaming service you can find, with a starting price at $82.99/month covering one membership for up to 6 household accounts.
That said, it's not all sunshine and rainbows. If you are into regional sports, it would be a bummer for you because YouTube TV doesn’t offer many channels related to regional sports.
If it still sounds good to you, YouTube TV is a good option.
Sling TV
Sling TV should be your choice if you are very limited on budget.
The basic plan, with 10+ live channels, starts at around $20 a month. This might seem underwhelming, but the channels offered are good, along with the existing SlingTV features.
If you think that the number of channels is way too thin, you can go with the Sling Orange or Sling Blue plan, which offers more than enough channels to replace your cable TV. The range of channels is typical, like sports, news, entertainment, and stuff like that.
However, the problem is that the channels it offers are still very limited. You might miss your CBS Sports and other channels, which you would likely find on YouTube TV and Hulu.
If that doesn’t bother you, and you want to save money, then sure, Sling TV is your best bet.
