Tuesday, December 23, 2025 - Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has addressed growing speculation about his health after remarks by Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geofrey Ruku suggested he was unwell.
In a statement shared on Facebook on Monday night, December
23rd, Kindiki reassured Kenyans: “I am well, very well.”
Earlier that day, CS Ruku represented the Deputy President
at the annual Kimalel Goat Auction in Baringo County, telling residents that
Kindiki was not feeling well but had sent greetings and financial support for
the event.
His comments quickly spread online, sparking mixed reactions
- some netizens wished the DP a speedy recovery, while others demanded clarity.
Kindiki’s last public appearance was on December 19th,
when he presided over the passing out of cadet and junior officers at the Kenya
Wildlife Service Law Enforcement Academy in Manyani, Taita Taveta County.
Meanwhile, the goat auction, attended by President William
Ruto and several leaders, raised an impressive Ksh 82 million, surpassing last
year’s Ksh64 million.
Kindiki’s reassurance has calmed concerns, underscoring how
quickly speculation can spread in the digital age and how vital direct
communication remains in public life.
