2025 - A 24-year-old woman has been arrested in Kitengela, Kajiado County,
after stabbing her 38-year-old husband, leading to his death.
The incident occurred on Sunday evening in the Orata area,
following a domestic dispute that escalated into violence.
The couple had reportedly spent the day attending church
together before the fatal altercation.
According to Reuben Thuku Njuguna, father of the deceased,
the suspect, Elizabeth Wanjiku Muthoni, called him pleading for help, admitting
to stabbing her husband, Simon Peter Thuku, in the thigh.
Neighbors and Good Samaritans rushed Thuku to Kitengela Sub
County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Njuguna revealed that the couple’s two-year marriage had
been plagued by domestic violence.
He recounted previous incidents, including a chest stabbing
and an attempted attack at the in-laws’ home.
Despite family efforts to encourage separation, the couple
remained together.
The grieving father is now appealing for justice and
financial support to bury his son in Nakuru, citing limited resources.
Neighbors have condemned the act, calling it senseless and
tragic.
Isinya Sub County Police Commander, Simon Lokitari,
confirmed the arrest and stated that investigations are underway.
He urged the public to seek peaceful conflict resolution and
avoid taking the law into their own hands.
The suspect is currently being held at Kitengela Police
Station and is expected to appear in Kajiado Law Courts.
The body is preserved at Kitengela Subcounty Hospital
funeral home.
