Monday, September 8, 2025 - Drama unfolded in Murang’a County after a group of suspected livestock thieves narrowly escaped death when angry residents caught them transporting stolen animals in a tuk-tuk.
According to eyewitnesses, the suspects had stolen a goat
and a cow from a nearby homestead and were attempting to sneak them into town
using the three-wheeler when locals became suspicious.
Upon inspection, the livestock were discovered crammed
inside the tuk-tuk, sparking instant fury among locals.
The suspects were cornered and subjected to a beating as
residents prepared to set the tuk-tuk ablaze.
However, police officers arrived just in time and whisked
them away to safety, preventing what could have been a deadly mob-justice
incident.
