Monday, September 15, 2025 - Harambee Stars captain, Michael Olunga, has lit up social media with a savage clapback that got fans cheering.
In a now-viral post, Olunga also known
as 'The Engineer', shared a photo of himself at a construction site in
Nairobi’s upscale Kilimani area, donning a blue safety helmet and standing
confidently in front of a multi-storey building nearing completion.
Captioned “Blessed Sunday. Tupo site, kata simu... hatuna
midomo mingi, ni kazi tu,” the post drew admiration and curiosity.
But one skeptical fan, Ke Mike, threw shade, suggesting the
building wasn’t Olunga’s.
“Najua unataka tufikirie
ni yako . .. unfortunately hatuezi,"
The striker didn’t hold back, replying, “Utafikiria aje
na hauna akili?” - a savage retort that sent netizens into a frenzy.
Fans applauded Olunga for defending his hustle, with many
praising his journey from humble beginnings to international stardom.
Starting at Liberty Sports Academy, Olunga rose through
Kenyan clubs before making waves in Europe and Asia. He’s currently signed with
Al-Arabi SC in Qatar, after scoring 117 goals in 124 matches for Al-Duhail.
With 34 goals in 67 appearances for Kenya, Olunga now shares
the national scoring record with Dennis Oliech.
Whether on the pitch or online, Olunga continues to prove he’s not just a goal machine - but a force to be reckoned with.
