Friday, September 12, 2025 - Nyali MP, Mohammed Ali popularly known as Jicho Pevu, has launched a fiery attack against United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Secretary General Hassan Omar over his recent remarks targeting Kiharu MP, Ndindi Nyoro.
In a strongly worded post on X, Ali accused Omar of engaging
in power-driven politics rather than addressing the country’s economic
challenges.
“Unbelievable remarks by the so-called Secretary General of
a party we once held high hopes for,” Ali wrote.
“This is not politics of economy, my friend, this is sheer
politics of power.”
Ali warned that leadership detached from the people’s
struggles is destined to fail.
“Power that’s blind to people’s plight is bound to diminish
when people rise.”
“Maskini akipata matako hulia mbwata!” he added.
Omar had earlier defended the Government’s borrowing
strategy, dismissing Nyoro’s concerns about rising debt and referring to him as
“a small boy crying.”
He challenged Nyoro to explain why he hadn’t raised similar
concerns while chairing the National Assembly Budget Committee.
“All roads that had stalled are
now ongoing. Then you hear a small boy called Nyoro crying that Kenya’s debt
has skyrocketed.”
“You know, some people took on
debt and developed one part of Kenya only. We will also borrow loans and build
the other part of Kenya.”
“So when we are developing other
parts of Kenya, that is when you are complaining that Kenya’s debt is rising?”
Omar charged.
The public exchange has exposed growing cracks within the
ruling UDA party, threatening to reshape the political landscape ahead of the
2027 General Election.
