Monday, August 4, 2025 - Ruto’s former Senior Economic Adviser, Moses Kuria, has strongly criticized Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale over his recent remarks suggesting that the citizenship of Mediheal Hospital owner, Dr. Swarup Mishra, could be revoked due to alleged involvement in organ trafficking.
In a statement posted on his official X account on Monday,
August 4th, Kuria questioned the legal basis of Duale’s comments,
noting that the Health CS has no constitutional authority over immigration
matters.
"Sometimes I wonder. When a senior government official
who is not in charge of immigration says we will cancel citizenship and deport
so-and-so, do we ponder what investors will think of our country?” Kuria posed.
He warned that such pronouncements risk undermining investor
confidence, negatively affecting the economy and job creation for the youth.
“What of investors’ confidence? What of due process? What of
our credit rating?” he added.
CS Duale, speaking on Friday, August 1st, said an
independent task force had gathered sufficient evidence linking Mishra and
Mediheal Hospital to illegal organ harvesting.
He further accused Mishra of attempting to interfere with
investigations through threats and bribery.
Duale said the Government will not hesitate to revoke
Mishra’s citizenship, shut down the hospital, and deport him.
A 13-member committee has recommended his arrest and
prosecution, linking him to a wider international trafficking syndicate.
