Monday, July 21, 2025 - There was drama along the Mai Mahiu–Narok Road after a lorry transporting iron sheets overturned, prompting a looting spree by locals.
In a video circulating online, dozens of residents, some on
foot and others on motorcycles, are seen scrambling to collect the
scattered iron sheets.
According to eyewitnesses, the lorry lost control while
negotiating a bend, veered off the road, and toppled over, spilling its entire
cargo onto the road.
Fortunately, no fatalities were reported, though the driver
and his assistant sustained minor injuries during the incident.
By the time police officers arrived to restore order, most
of the iron sheets had already been taken.
