Sunday, September 22, 2019- President Uhuru Kenyatta’s niece, Nana Gecaga, has taken to social media to pay tribute to her brother, Mbugua, who was killed during the Westgate terrorist attack six years ago.
On Saturday, September 21, 2013, four al Shabaab militants, assisted by other accomplices, stormed Westgate Mall in Nairobi and killed 67 people and left hundreds with injuries.
Among those killed is Naga Gecaga’s brother Mbugua and his girlfriend Rosemary.
It was reported that Mbugua died while shielding his girlfriend from the terrorist’s bullets.
Taking to Instagram, Nana wrote: “…Everyday when I come down the stairs in my house and smile because I remember a story everyday of our time together and everything we went through the tears the laughter and the joy you brought to all our lives.”
