Monday September 23, 2019-President Uhuru Kenyatta is reportedly angry with the performance of the Kenya National Women Volleyball team in the ongoing 2019 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Cup in Japan.

The Malkia Strikers have not registered a single win or worst still winning a single set, from seven matches so far, and Uhuru through Permanent Secretary for Sports Ambassador Kirimi Kaberia can’t take it anymore.

Uhuru says the Kenyan Queens must now win at least a match before getting back to the country. He also questions how Kenya can be the African Champions and fail to show any efforts at the global stage.

“It’s sad watching our women volleyballers losing every match in Japan after doing so well in Rabat, enough is enough, we must also win there,” Kaberia said.

The Sports PS says the government will be forced to have a serious conversation with the top officials of Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) in a bid to find a lasting solution.

Malkia Strikers have fallen to the USA, the Netherlands, Brazil, Serbia, Dominican Republic and Argentina, in a tournament which has been running since September 14. The final match of the 2019 edition will be played on Sunday, September 29.
