Saturday September 14, 2019-Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga is becoming powerful with each passing day.
This is after Deputy President William Ruto and his allies accused him of creating a barricade between President Uhuru Kenyatta and members of his Jubilee Party.
Raila has been working closely with Uhuru after their 2018 handshake.
Laikipia Woman Representative Cate Waruguru is among leaders accusing Raila of disrupting the peace in the party, including making it hard for them to meet Uhuru.
Speaking yesterday, Waruguru, who is a member Tangatanga movement that is led by Ruto, claimed that it's now impossible for the elected members to discuss their electorates' issues with Uhuru as was the case before, thanks to Raila's interference.
“Everything was going on well until Raila came into the picture because of the March handshake. Now it’s very difficult for the real Jubilee supporters to meet the President and discuss issues affecting the country in line with the party’s manifesto,” she said in Nakuru County.
On the other hand, Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika used the function held at the Nakuru ASK showground to accuse Raila of creating a rift between Uhuru and Ruto, in a bid to prevent him from endorsing Ruto as his successor as initially promised.
“There was a promise that was made between the President and the DP that after leading this country for 10 years, it will be another 10 years for Ruto. That is the promise which we shall fulfil,” she said.
She as well poured cold water on Raila's calls for a referendum, observing that the nation doesn't need it.
