Tuesday September 24, 2019 - Even as slain businessman Tob Cohen is expected to be buried this afternoon, it has emerged that his sister left the country to avoid contact with widow, Sarah Wairimu.
Speaking yesterday, Cohen’s family lawyer, Cliff Ombeta, said that Gabrielle van Straten left the country because she could not stand the sight of Wairimu during the billionaire's burial.
Gabrielle flew out of the country on Saturday and the gesture sparked a lot of speculation.
Among claims that emerged is that Straten was interested in knowing the contents of her brother's will and left after it was revealed to family members.
Cohen's burial had been scheduled for yesterday but was postponed to today following a Rabbi quorum hitch.
Organisers of the funeral managed to bring on board eight priests to preside over the tycoon's burial against the required threshold of 10.
Ombeta assured the defense team that the ceremony would take place on Tuesday as two more priests had been called in from Kisumu and Mombasa.
"There will be a burial tomorrow.”
“I want to assure Philip Morgor, my senior, that nothing is going to happen tonight.”
“We have two priests coming in, one is from Kisumu and the other from Mombasa," he said.
