Tuesday September 10, 2019 - President Uhuru Kenyatta has once again embarrassed his deputy, William Ruto, after he refused to turn up at a function organised by Jubilee Party.
Last week, Ruto wrote a letter to President Uhuru Kenyatta requesting him to be the chief guest at the function to christen Macdonald Mariga as the Jubilee Party candidate in the Kibra by-election scheduled for November 7th.
However, after Uhuru refused to turn up, Ruto sent Jubilee Party Secretary General, Raphael Tuju, to issue the nomination certificate to Mariga.
“We should all remember that there will be a winner and a loser but we will all remain to be Kenyans," Tuju said after meeting Mariga at Jubilee Party headquarters along Thika Road.
Mariga thanked the party for believing in him and assured them that he is equal to the task.
"Kazi ianze sasa..imebaki kwenda kwa mafans.”
“(Let the work now begin. The only thing left now is to go to the supporters," Mariga said.
Accompanying him were MPs Didmas Barasa (Kimilili), Caleb Kositany (Soy), Nixon Korir (Lang'ata) and Gladys Shollei (Uasin Gishu Woman Representative).
