Friday September 27, 2019 - National Super Alliance (NASA) leader, Raila Odinga, snubbed Jubilee party candidate in the forthcoming Kibra by-election, McDonald Mariga, during the requiem mass for Monday’s Precious Talent School tragedy victims.
Addressing mourners at Telcom Grounds near Ngong Road on Friday, Raila introduced the ODM party candidate and avoided mentioning Mariga, who was present, despite jointly announcing their contribution with Jubilee Party leader, President Uhuru Kenyatta.
“Lastly, Kibra constituency is my house and I brought along my son, where is Imran?”
“Please stand up.”
“(Mwisho, watu wa Kibra. Kibra ni nyumba yangu. Sivyo? Niko na kijana yangu hapa. Imran yuko wapi? Simama watu wakuone.)," Raila said.
While holding Okoth's hand, Raila asked the crowd who they will elect come November 7.
They roared back Imran's name.
"Who is the Kibra MP? (Mbunge wa Kibra ni nani?)" Raila asked as Mariga looked down due to embarrassment.
Mariga is being fronted by Deputy President William Ruto.
