Wednesday September 18, 2019 - Lady Justice Stella Mutuku has allowed murder suspect, Sarah Wairimu, to attend the postmortem of her late husband, Tob Cohen, at Chiromo Mortuary.
Cohen, who was a Dutch billionaire based in Kenya, was found killed in his Kitisuru home and Wairimu is the chief suspect in the murder case.
Addressing the media on Wednesday, Wairimu’s lawyer, Philip Murgor, said Justice Mutuku issued an order allowing Wairimu to be present during the post-mortem.
"An order has just been released that Sarah Wairimu Cohen has to be present during the post mortem and it is being extracted, which will be served on the prison authorities so that she can be brought and be present," Murgor said.
The lawyer also said that the postmortem will not begin until Wairimu was released from the Lang'ata Women's Prison.
The postmortem will be carried by State pathologist, Dr Johannsen Oduor and Wairimu’s pathologist, Prof Andrew Kanyi Gachii.
However, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), George Kinoti, has maintained that he personally believes that Sarah was involved in the murder of Tob Cohen.
"Cohen was murdered in his own residence.”
“It is a gruesome murder."
“They took their time to kill innocent Cohen.”
“I will not describe much now, but in the subsequent unfolding of events," Kinoti stated.
