Wednesday September 4, 2019 - Cherangany Member of Parliament, Joshua Kutuny, has pinned the blame for the Mau evictions on Deputy President William Ruto.
Addressing the press at Parliament Buildings on Wednesday, Kutuny said that the DP had failed to help resolve the issues around Mau yet he was the second most powerful person in the country.
The outspoken MP contended that unlike President Uhuru Kenyatta who had moved to solve coffee issues affecting his Central Kenya backyard, the Deputy President had done hardly enough to fight for the Mau people.
"If the Mau issue is not handled properly, it is going to tear Jubilee apart.”
“We have seen President Uhuru Kenyatta waking up in the morning to solve coffee issues, but we have never seen the Deputy President waking up to solve the issues in Mau," he said.
The Cherangany MP's outburst comes as the Government insists that those living in the important water catchment area should move.
According to reports, the settlers have started moving from the forest as ordered by the State.
