Thursday, September 12, 2019 - A female police officer has been brutally murdered in Eldoret, in what police believe to be a crime of passion.
The cop identified as Robinah Moraa, was found in her rented house at Annex Estate lying in a pool of blood after being stabbed multiple times.
Her body was discovered by neighbours after they broke into the house.
They alerted the caretaker who then informed the chief.
According to the caretaker, Moraa was a reserved lady who rarely interacted with people.
“Moraa moved into the house two months ago, and was a reserved person who kept to herself and hardly spoke with her neighbours.”
“Even when she was off duty, she would spend her mornings doing laundry and ironing in the afternoons,” the caretaker said.
The deceased’s boyfriend is believed to be behind the murder.
He allegedly attacked her on Wednesday afternoon after she returned home from work.
He was seen entering her house at 2PM before leaving at around 4PM, the day she was killed.
Uasin Gishu police commander, Johnston Ipara, confirmed the incident and said that the deceased had been stabbed several times in the head, neck and other parts of the body.
The kitchen knife used to commit the murder was found next to the deceased’s body.
Police say they have crucial leads that will soon lead to the suspect’s arrest.
