Wednesday September 11, 2019 - President Uhuru Kenyatta is not happy with the decision by his deputy, William Ruto, of fielding a Jubilee candidate in the Kibra by-election, a State House source has revealed.

Last week, Ruto announced that former Harambee Star midfielder, Macdonald Mariga, will fly the Jubilee Party flag in the November 7th by-election.

According to sources, Uhuru is not happy with the decision because it will sscuttle the handshake between the President and ODM leader, Raila Odinga.

Former Starehe MP, Maina Kamanda, also said Uhuru is not happy with Ruto’s decision to field a candidate in Kibra.

Maina said Ruto is fielding a candidate in Kibera to undermine the relationship between the President and Mr Odinga.

“The Deputy President is not happy with the peaceful environment that the handshake has brought to this country.”

“He does not care about Nairobi people and how they have fought one another for a long time, because he does not have his people in Nairobi.”

“Our DP doesn’t care,” Mr Kamanda said.

He went on to say:

“He (Ruto) knows he cannot win that seat but wants to bring a wedge between the President and Raila.”
