Sunday September 1, 2019-Kapsaret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi, on Friday, took a swipe at President Uhuru Kenyatta over the dynasty debate.
Sudi was speaking during a fundraising drive at St Mary's Osongorai Secondary School in Turbo attended by Amani National Congress (ANC) Deputy Party leader Kipruto Arap Kirwa, former Kakamega senator Boni Khalwale and Deputy President William Ruto's personal assistant Farouk Kibet among other leaders, where Ksh13,199,000 was allegedly raised.
The controversial legislator maintained that dynasty talk was not going to die anytime soon regardless of what other people might say.
He added that Building Bridges Initiative fronted by ODM leader Raila Odinga and Uhuru was a product of the dynasty and that the Ekuru Aukot led Punguza Mizigo Bill was the only saviour for the hustlers (common citizens).
This comes against the backdrop of Uhuru's speech during the 41st anniversary of the death of the founding father Jomo Kenyatta on August 22, where he stated that people should cease the dynasty talk.
“When you hear people out there talk about dynasties, sijui mtu fulani ni dynasty, sijui ile dynasty (so and so belongs to this dynasty or that dynasty). It’s not about that.
“Leadership is not about where you were born or where you came from. It’s not about the colour of your skin or about the tribe. Leadership is the desire to serve; the desire to do good and make a difference in the lives of the people," Uhuru insisted.
