Monday September 30, 2019 - Chaos and pandemonium rocked Kibra on Monday after Orange Democratic Movement candidate in Kibra by election, Imran Okoth, was chased away by residents.
The incident happened when Imran went to Kisumu Ndogo to campaign where he was met with angry youths who were chanting Mariga Tosha.
Efforts by Imran Okoth’s security men to stop the heckling fell on deaf ears and he was forced to run and hide in the nearby chief’s camp.
The entry of Mariga in the race for Kibra’s top seat has given ODM leaders and Imran Okoth sleepless night.
ODM officials including Raila Odinga thought Kibra was a walkover and they would win without even going to people’s homes but the ground shifted and now they are running scared.
To show that Raila Odinga is running scared, he has sought the services of former Mungiki leader, Maina Njenga and former Starehe MP, Maina Kamanda to help him campaign in Kibra.
The Kibra seat fell vacant following the untimely death Ken Okoth in July.
