Wednesday September 25, 2019-Education Cabinet Secretary Professor George Magoha on Wednesday stormed a Kibra school with one aim.
Speaking on live television, Magoha announced the closure of St. Catherine Bombolulu Primary school which according to him was in a similar state as the collapsed Precious Talent School in Ng'ando Dagoretti.
"I have been to the structure, I have been to every room, and basically there is no difference from the structure that collapsed," he admitted.
Magoha, who was accompanied by his Permanent Secretary, Belio Kipsang, ordered the transfer of 207 Bombolulu pupils to a neighbouring school, Ayany Estate Primary with immediate effect.
"The children from Bombululu will be transferred to this school (Ayany) because it has extra capacity," he announced.
Magoha also disclosed that the building (Bombolulu school) was never approved by anybody and the structure was also never registered.
During his address, Magoha urged the community to understand that the ministry was only acting in the best interest of the children.
While on his inspection mission, the CS also discovered that teachers in Bombolulu were not registered by TSC as compared to Ayany that had over 24 dully registered teachers.
