Monday September 9, 2019 - Nyeri Town MP, Ngunjiri Wambugu, has accused Deputy President William Ruto of using Kiharu MP, Ndindi Nyoro, in his nefarious plot to divide the Central Kenya vote.
In an interview with Inooro TV on Sunday evening, Ngunjiri who is the team leader of Kieleweke Team, said Sunday’s fight in Muranga involving Nyoro and nominated MP, Maina Kamanda, is one of Ruto’s attempts to divide Central Kenya ahead of the 2022 presidential elections.
He said the incident was unfortunate and blamed Nyoro for the mayhem at Gitui Catholic Church in Kiharu.
“There were fights like this where a Kikuyu would fight another Kikuyu.”
“At that time the wars were caused by someone keen on dividing the Kikuyu vote so that when elections come, Kikuyus would not vote as a block.”
“I am very shocked by what happened,” he said.
Ngunjiri Wambugu said that there was a strong need for Mount Kenya leaders to have an urgent meeting so that they could have discussions to prevent what happened in Kiharu on Sunday.
The Kieleweke and Tanga Tanga, both factions of the ruling Jubilee Party, have been trading strong words over the presidential aspirations of Ruto.
