School Head Teacher
Reporting to the Chief Learning Officer/Director, the School Head teacher will be responsible for leadership, supervision and management of the school both at Kindergarten and Primary.
He/she will be responsible for driving the school growth initiatives and new markets.
He / she should be a highly talented, result driven, team leader with ability to manage a dynamic professional expertise and positively engage all stakeholders in line with the KISC Schools’ philosophy & strategic plan.
The candidate must demonstrate ability to drive value addition to students in talent development, academic performance, Discipline.etc.
He/she will define the responsibilities and accountability of staff members and oversee and implement reading and learning.
Key responsibilities for the role include:

·         Lead the development and implementation of modern teaching approaches, methodologies and schemes of work.

Key Qualifications and Experience

·         Minimum 10 years relevant working experience in a school set up, 5 years of which should have been in a leadership position/experience as a Head Teacher.

Deputy Head Teacher
Reporting to the Head Teacher,he will assist the head teacher in providing professional leadership, supervisory and administration support.

ECDE School Teachers
Responsible for planning, preparing teaching and learning materials and executing appropriate activities for the children each day according to the curriculum, schemes of work and lesson plans.
Key responsibilities for the role include:
·         Organizes and provides developmentally appropriate early childhood education programs; plans and implement curriculum and education for children ranging in age from two to Eight years old.
·         Provides activities and opportunities that encourage curiosity, exploration, and problem solving appropriate to the developmental levels and learning styles of children.
·         Plan and prepares classroom setting; oversees safety and educational programs; supervises children in the classroom; provides a supportive environment in which children can learn and practice appropriate and acceptable individual and group behaviors.
·         Interacts with parents and community groups; maintains open and cooperative communication with parents and families, encouraging their involvement in the program and supporting the child’s family relationships.
·         Writes and compiles individual assessments of each child’s development; completes daily inventories, child attendance, and related reports.
·         Participates in teaching undergraduate and graduate early childhood education labs, as appropriate.
·         Participates in research programs concerned with improvements in early childhood teaching methods, as appropriate.

Qualifications required
·         Degree/ Diploma in ECDE from Kenya National Examination Council.
·         Registered with TSC.
·         Must have experience and training in CBC.
·         At least 2 years relevant experience in ECDE and particularly in the new curriculum.
·         Proficiency in English & Kiswahili; both written and spoken.

Primary School Teachers
Responsible for planning, preparing teaching and learning materials and executing appropriate activities for the children each day according to the curriculum, schemes of work and lesson plans.
Key responsibilities for the role include:
·         Prepare and plan relevant creative and educative teaching activities
·         Maintain positive, constructive and professional relationships with pupils, their families and colleagues.

Qualifications required:

Secondary School Teachers
Responsible for planning, preparing teaching and learning materials and executing appropriate activities for the children each day according to the curriculum, schemes of work and lesson plans.
Duties and responsibilities
·         Teaching one of these subjects: English/Literature, Geography, Religious Studies, History & Psychology.
·         Deliver effective, differentiated and inquiry-based lessons in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.
·         Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the relevant subject and modern pedagogy
·         Accurately evaluate and comment on both the ability and developmental potential of each student.
·         Show profound commitment to ongoing professional growth and to taking on responsibility for fulfilling the vision and philosophy of KISC Schools.
·         Performing such other related tasks or projects as they arise and as delegated by the KISC Schools management
Qualifications required:
·         At least a B/ED or BSC or BA degree from a recognized university in the respective fields.
·         At least 3 years working experience in teaching in reputable institutions which offer Secondary, IGCSE &A’ levels. The applicants handling History, Religious Studies,Geography, Psychology, English/Literature shall have an added advantage.
·         Must be a performer and provide proof of the same.
·         Must be willing to stretch and meet strict deadlines and targets.
·         Knowledge of both the British system and 8.4.4 will be an added advantage.

School Bus Drivers
Responsible for safely transporting children to and from school and related events.
Picking up and dropping of pupils/students at designated locations or private homes.
Responsibilities
·         Transport children from home to school and back home.
·         Operate the school motor vehicle in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant legislation, policies and procedures
·         Take children for games, trips and other activities outside the school.
·         Ensuring the bus is always clean.
·         Notify Transport Manager of any accident/incident, delay, route diversion and riots immediately.
·         Maintenance of the bus including checking the condition of a vehicle’s tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment to ensure that everything is in working order.
·         Comply with traffic regulations to ensure that the vehicles operate in a safe and courteous manner
·         Report any vehicle malfunctions or needed repairs to the transport manager.
·         Follow Emergency policy when involved in emergencies or accident.
·         Effective verbal and listening communications skills.
·         Ensure that all National and County Legal requirements such as licenses, permits or certificates are met and continually kept current or updated. This includes any motor vehicle licenses, approvals, certificates and permits.
·         Perform any other duties as assigned on behalf of the organization including running errands, transporting staff and ferrying students to the hospital for emergency cases.
Minimum Requirement & Qualifications
·         “O” Level certificate
·         A valid certificate of good conduct.
·         Valid driver’s license with minimum class ABCE
·         5 years’ work experience as a school driver

School Chefs
Responsible for overseeing the day to day kitchen activities and ensure that the food prepared and served is hygienic, well cooked, tasty and in line with the approved school menu.
Duties and responsibilities
·         Plan and prepare all meals
·         Managing the school menu and inventory related to the task
·         Cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen area
·         Managing food items / kitchen supplies
·         Preparing kitchen requisition in a timely manner
·         Perform other tasks as assigned from time to time
Minimum Requirements and Qualification
·         Diploma / certificate in food and beverages / food production / catering or any other related field
·         At least two (2) years extensive experience
·         Be a good communicator (fluent in English and Swahili)
·         Be well groomed and conform to the kitchen dress – code
·         Possess a valid food handlers certificate

Cleaners
Responsible for the general cleaning of the school and any other duties that may be assigned to ensure a hygienic environment within the school.
Responsibilities
·         Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
·         Emptying waste bins or similar receptacles, transporting waste material to designated collection points
·         Dusting, damp wiping, washing or polishing the furniture, ledges, window sills and external surfaces of cupboards, radiators, shelves and fitments
·         Replenishing consumable items (soap, toilet rolls, paper towels) if required
·         Cleaning toilets, urinals, hand basins and sinks
·         Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment (if any), in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
·         Mow and trim lawns and shrubbery, using mowers and hand to clear debris from grounds.
Qualifications required:
·         At least a Certificate in Housekeeping
·         Good communication skills in both English and Kiswahili
·         At least one year working experience in a similar position.

School Counsellor
To provide professional and confidential counselling services to the KISC pupils/students.
Alongside this the School Counsellor will provide staff with advice and support and play a significant role in the pastoral framework of KISC Group of Schools.
He/she will report directly to the Chief Learning Officer, but work closely with the Heads of Schools.
Main Duties:
·         Collaboratively develop a Comprehensive School Counseling Policy with the Heads of Schools
·         Develop and maintain a written plan for effective delivery of the school counseling program based on best practice approaches and in line with the school’s ethos.
·         To provide an independent and confidential counselling service to pupils and staff at Kitengela International School, through individual sessions, responding to their personal, social, emotional or educational concerns
·         To promote a caring and supportive environment where such concerns may be explored, thereby promoting the mental and emotional health of pupils at KISC
·         To maintain confidentiality (except in those circumstances, in line with Kitengela Intl’ School practice, where this should be breached)
·         Accurately and appropriately use assessment procedures for determining and structuring individual and group counseling services. Consult the Heads of School if there is the need to invite an external service provider for the whole school, or for pupils, or for members of staff.
·         To make referrals, where appropriate
·         To be alert to trends and patterns of problems and to be willing to identify causes and recommend corrective action
·         To play an active role in safeguarding children and adhere fully to the Kitengela Intl’ school policies, especially the Safeguarding and Child Protection policies.
·         To maintain a high level of knowledge and awareness of changes and developments in the fields of counselling and education and their impact on the delivery of counselling;
·         To work with groups or classes of children where required and in consultation with the relevant members of staff
·         To contribute in any other reasonable fashion to promote the safety and wellbeing of the pupils.
Qualifications required
·         Between 3-5 years of experience in institutional counselling
·         Have Professional Training in Counselling- Higher National Diploma or Degree
·         Experience in counselling teens and young adults
·         You are a great communicator: You are able to provide a clear and persuasive pitch to anyone and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

School Matron / Cateress
Responsible for health and sanitation, catering & boarding and ensuring the welfare of the students is well maintained according to the KISC Schools’ standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
·         Oversee food preparation ensuring good quality & tasty meals at all times that all well planned.
·         To ensure that there is a clean and pleasant environment in the School throughout which involves line managing and directing cleaners both inside and outside the school.
·         Plan and prepare the menu making certain that a balance diet is provided, in liaison with the Head of Kitchen and Head of School.
·         Be a major source of awareness of student’s behavior and be ready to alert the Administration regarding areas of concern.
·         Keep constant communication with the Head of School about students’ affairs.
·         Maintain close liaison with the Dispensary at all times concerning students medical provision.
·         Organize and attend to catering services for KISC Schools’ various events
·         Monitor the students’ daily routines (including punctuality, meal attendance, diet etc), and work with the boarding mistress/master to help pupils meet expected school.
·         Ensure students are smart when leaving the dormitories.
·         Assess illnesses and injuries and to refer to the Nurse all medical matters.
·         Report and follow up unsatisfactory levels of repair either inside or outside the dormitories
·         To be responsible for the care of dormitories facilities, equipment and laundry
Requirements & Qualifications
·         Diploma or certificate in Housekeeping and or counselling.
·         A Degree in Catering and Institutional Management from a recognized institution an added advantage.
·         Computer Literate
·         Experience working with students / teenagers will be a definite advantage.
·         Must be available to reside in school, work in a busy day/ night schedules, spend the nights at school all through during school term

School Bursar
Responsible for fees collection & all the accounting and finance matters as assigned by the KISC Schools management.
He/she should be good in dealing with numbers & with high levels of integrity.
Duties & Responsibilities
·         Custody and maintenance of books of accounts and accountable documents;
·         Ensure proper fees records are kept at all times and requisite meal receipts etc are issued correctly.
·         Ensuring a proper paper trail for each transaction is kept Developing management mechanism of school’s resources & statutory compliance.
·         Planning and evaluating cost reduction measures Managing, evaluating, accounting systems for the school Constant check on possible fraud and errors;
·         Working with auditors in ensuring accountability
·         Preparation and monitoring of school’s budget
·         Developing working relations with professionals e.g. bankers, auditors
·         Prepare requisitions for different requirements of the school Safeguarding the school assets by providing proper coding and records
·         Supervising of all non-teaching and subordinate staff under him/her
·         Preparing regular financial reports as instructed from time to time.
Requirements & Qualifications
·         Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Kenya finalist or in possession of any other recognized qualification equivalent to CPA (Kenya)
·         Bachelor degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Economics or a combination of any or any other relevant degree will be an added advantage
·         At least 3 years’ experience in the accounting practice in a school or any other public or private institution will be an added advantage
·         Must be conversant with Sage or any other major ERPs.

Administrative Assistant
Reporting to the School Head teacher, the administrative assistant will be responsible for managing the day to day operations of the office.
He/she should demonstrate high level communication skills in line with the KISC Schools brand profile.
Responsibilities
·         Acting as a first point of contact for the school
·         Enrolling and admitting new pupils to the school
·         Ensuring that all visitors are logged and have appropriate identification
·         Maintaining and updating school information, databases and records
·         Communicating with parents regarding various aspects of school life, receiving and passing on information between teachers and parents
·         Ensuring the reception area is kept tidy and that the notice boards are kept up to date
·         Assisting in ordering stationery, materials and other resources and ensuring that stock levels are well maintained
·         Oversee the administration function to facilitate service delivery to both internal and external customers in line with the school policies
·         Scheduling, setting up travel, meetings and appointments for pupils, teachers, and parents
·         Responding to emergencies when needed
·         Identifying and recommending best practices for innovation to ensure new and improved processes, procedures and methodologies.
·         Managing the flow of information to staff and supervisors
·         Preparing and formatting information for internal and external distribution

Qualifications
