Friday September 13, 2019-Deputy President William Ruto’s blogger and Secretary of Innovation, Digital and Diaspora Communication in the Office of the President, Dennis Itumbi, has said that former footballer McDonald Mariga will contest for the Kibra by-election whether or not former Prime Minister Raila Odinga likes it.

In a tweet, Itumbi asked Media personalities not to poke their noses into his recent woes, arguing that he will soon get clearance to contest for the position.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission refused to clear Mariga to contest for the seat after it emerged that he is not a registered voter.

However, Itumbi insists that all is well and Mariga will be on the ballot box when that time comes courtesy of Ruto.

“Elections are NOT decided on TV Shows as skipping the much hyped Presidential debate confirmed. 90% of the guys on #NewsGang are my friends. They are expressing personal opinions on Mariga. Biased or not, let them be. Mariga will be on the ballot. Let the People Decide!” he tweeted.

A section of Jubilee politicians led by Former Senator Boni Khalwale have continued to criticize the IEBC after the move to block Mariga from the race. The politicians opine that it is a war between the hustler nation and dynasties.

Mariga has since announced that he wants to change the lives of the residents of Kibra and he is not Deputy President William Ruto’s project as alleged.
