Wednesday September 18, 2019 - Jubilee Party candidate in the Kibra by election, Macdonald Mariga, has been accused with having an erotic relationship with late Kibra MP, Ken Okoth’s clandestine lover, Anne Nthumbi.
Nthumbi, who is a nominated MCA in Nairobi County, sired a child with the late Ken Okoth who succumbed to colorectal cancer in July this year.
Sharing this on social media on Tuesday, Embakasi East MP, Babu Owino argued that it was not right for Mariga to take the late Ken Okoth's seat and his wife as well.
“This is the lady who had a baby with the late Hon. Ken Okoth.”
“Mariga must choose between the lady or the seat.”
“It is not right for him to show spite to the late Ken by taking both his seat and his wife.”
“Choose one,” Babu Owino said.
However, in a quick rejoinder, Nthumbi explained that considering her position as an MCA allied to Jubilee, it only made political sense for her to support a fellow party member.
“I was nominated to the Nairobi County Assembly under the Jubilee Party.”
“I, therefore, am obligated to stick with the party’s choice in the race for Kibra parliamentary seat.”
“Jubilee’s choice, as of today, is Mariga, and I needed to show him my support,” she noted.
Mariga will battle it out with Imran Okoth of ODM and Eliud Owalo of ANC.
The Kibra by-election is slated for November 7th.
