Sunday September 22, 2019-Slain businessman Tob Cohen is set to be laid to rest tomorrow at the Jewish cemetery along Wangari Maathai Road.

It has emerged that Cohen, whose body was found in a septic tank at his Kitisuru home in Nairobi, had already marked his final resting place.

A source at the Jewish Synagogue in Nairobi revealed that there will be no viewing of the deceased body as well as the opening of the casket in accordance with the Judaist customs and traditions.

All the mourners will be expected to dress in black and modestly. There will be no greetings at the cemetery when the mourners arrive until the body had been lowered into the grave.

The family will be expected to make a ritual tear of their outer garments. If the parents of the deceased were present during the function they would have been asked to tear the upper part of their garments just next to their hearts.

Bernard and his siblings will be expected to tear the left side of their garments. The burial will start with a prayer as well as reading of the biblical passages before his eulogy is read as well.

“There will be no viewing of the body, no opening of the casket at the funeral. The body is not buried in suits but wrapped in white clothing”, said the source.
