Tuesday September 10, 2019 - Wiper Democratic Movement has announced that Kenyan musician, Jackson Makini popularly known as Prezzo, will be the party’s candidate in the Kibra by-election.
Making the announcement on Tuesday, Wiper Party leader, Kalonzo Musyoka, said the party has settled on Prezzo because he has the interest of Kibra people at heart.
Prezzo will now face off with ODM's Bernard Imran Okoth, Jubilee's McDonald Mariga, Democratic Party candidate, Dorn Anaclet, Ford Kenya’s Butichi Khamisi, ANC’s Eliud Owalo among others.
The Kibra seat fell vacant following the death of Ken Okoth in July.
Okoth died at The Nairobi Hospital after a long battle with colorectal cancer, just two weeks after he returned home from Paris, France, where he was receiving treatment.
The Kibra by election is slated for November 7th and it is turning out to be a two horse race between Imran and Mariga.
However, Kalonzo has asked the Kibra electorate to vote for Prezzo because Okoth and Mariga have nothing new to offer them.
