Sunday, September 29, 2019-Jubilee candidate for the Kibra by-election, McDonald Mariga, has kicked off his campaign in style.

The retired footballer stormed Kibra on Sunday for his first rally where he made several promises to residents of Kibra.

He promised to make all children in Kibra have access to basic education and vowed to improve the lives of the slum-dwellers if elected the next MP.

“I will ensure the growth of businesses here. We will look for ways to ensure those (business people) who earn Sh2, 000 a day to increase their profits to Sh10,000,” stated Mariga.

He also promised to create new jobs for the Kibra youths.

ODM candidate, Imran Okoth, who is also  the brother of the late former Kibra MP, Ken Okoth, is seen as the favorite to clinch the seat but with Mariga enjoying the support of DP William Ruto, we expect a tight contest.
