Tuesday September 3, 2019-Two lawyers representing Meru Senator Mithika Linturi in the messy divorce case, against Deputy President William Ruto’s former Chief of Staff, Marianne Kitany, finally gave the legislator's side of the story on allegations that he was at Sopa Lodge, the day he was supposed to table a motion to impeach former Devolution CS Anne Waiguru.

One of Linturi’s lawyers, George Wajackoyah, on Monday accused his estranged wife of luring the legislator into sexual relations at the lodge to win his property.

On the other hand, Muthomi Thiankolu, who is also representing the senator, claimed he has never stepped foot at the hotel.

“I have instructions that my client has never ever been to Sopa Lodge,” Muthomi told the court.

Kitany, however, dismissed the claim and stood her ground that the two lovers were at the establishment when the senator was supposed to lay the ground for Waiguru's ouster.

“We were together with Linturi and even went there after that,” she responded.
