Wednesday September 25, 2019-Rodah Chepkoech Kitany, the mother of the Marianne Kitany on Tuesdays gave her testimony concerning the divorce case between her daughter and Meru Senator Mithika Linturi.
Rodah, 65 years old recounted asking Linturi if he loved her daughter or whether he was after her money, and he said he loved her dearly.
Appearing before a Nairobi court, she stated that they asked this question before Linturi married their daughter in a traditional wedding.
Linturi had gone to Kitany's home in Nandi to pay dowry.
“In 2016, my daughter told me that she wanted to bring Linturi home so that he could pay dowry. I welcomed the plan. I, therefore, invited my relatives from Kericho,” said Rhoda.
Rodah also noted that Linturi had gone to Marianne home before the scheduled date to pay dowry.
He even participated in a church fundraiser.
“He came to the church where I am a preacher accompanied by Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter, the now-Nandi Governor Stephen Sang, Elgeyo-Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, now-Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu, among other leaders. During the harambee, Linturi gave us Ksh1 million.
"The leaders, who had arrived in Nandi in six choppers, thereafter flew to my home, located near the church. At home, I prepared them lunch. They ate and left,” she narrated.
The two are battling out at the Milimani Law Courts over their divorce.
