Tuesday September 10, 2019 - Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro has admitted that it has not been easy on his part after his arrest.

Speaking at his backyard in Murang’a County, Nyoro said that he is not ready to share more information with journalists about his arrest because he is terrified.

The lawmaker asked the police not to allow themselves to be used by the Government to frustrate its people.

“Let us not involve police in politics and let them not misuse us."

"I cannot speak much because I am terrified."

"If you want me politically come over to Kiharu but do not use our instruments to intimidate me!"

"(Tusiweke polisi wetu kwenye siasa na tusiwatumie vibaya I cannot speak much because I am terrified…ukinitaka kisiasa nipate hapa Kiharu but do not use our instruments to intimidate me!)” he said.

He also said that he respects the rule of law, adding that he is ready to cooperate with security agencies over the matter.

"We respect the law…if someone wants the seat he should not involve the police... Let the people decide…we cannot allow a few people to take us back to the Nyayo era."

"(Sisi tunatii sheria…kama mtu anataka kiti aache maneno ya polisi... Let the people decide…we cannot allow a few people wapeleke Kenya yetu kama wakati wa Nyayo)." he added.

The woes of the lawmaker started when he had a scuffle with Nominated MP Maina Kamanda.

Ndindi has accused the government of fighting him and other allies of the second in command.
