Tuesday September 10, 2019 - Kiharu MP, Ndindi Nyoro, was released unconditionally on Tuesday after being arrested on Monday evening.

The MP was arrested moments after a live show on a local TV station which was held at St James Cathedral Church in Murang’a.

Murang’a County Police Commander, Josephat Kinyua, and County Criminal Investigations Officer, Julius Rutere, led over 60 officers from the General Service Unit (GSU) to surround the venue of the TV show.

According to police, Mr Nyoro was to be charged with assaulting police officers, resisting arrest and causing disturbance in a church in Murang’a on Sunday.

However, according to his lawyer, Irungu Kang’ata, the MP was released unconditionally after top Government officials agreed to drop the charges against him.

“Mr Nyoro's charges have been dropped unconditionally.”

“He will not be presented to court after successfully negotiating with Government officials,” Kangata told journalists outside Murang’a Law Courts.

However, impeccable sources said that Nyoro was released after President Uhuru Kenyatta’s intervention.

On Monday evening, the National Intelligence Service (NIS) warned President Uhuru Kenyatta that the arrest of the MP may spark a rebellion in Mt Kenya region.

Uhuru has partly lost control of the vote rich region and NIS warned him of more rebellion should his Government arrest and charge the outspoken lawmaker.

  1. Uh...mmmm.... ok

  2. The Mt Kenya and other Kenyans voted UhuRuto into office willingly and faithfully. However, President Kenyatta has failed this Nation big time. We are all crying from North to South and East to West of Kenya for him engaging in Politics instead of Serving the Nation. Bwana President rise to your office. The Arrest of Dindi Nyoro and reaction by the people he represents speaks volumes. If called to your meeting they may not show up but touch one of their own. The Dindi was just a warning i also feel rebellion is brewing and you should resort to serving Kenyans not Politics Mr. PRESIDENT.
