Tuesday September 3, 2019-Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has finally identified the right person who will fly the party‘s flag in the upcoming Kibra by-election.

The party’s nomination exercise is scheduled for September 7 but according to sources the exercise is “just a formality” and the party has already settled for the best candidate.

Over 20 ODM candidates have expressed interest for the seat that fell vacant following the demise of Ken Okoth in July.

Sources said ODM Party leader, Raila Odinga, wants Benson Musungu to fly the party’s flag since he is educated and he has interests of Kibra electorate at heart.

“Yes the party has settled on Benson Musungu and even our party leader, Raila Odinga has endorsed him,” said a top ODM official, who requested anonymity, to avoid reprisals from his seniors.

Currently Musungu is ODM’s National Youth Coordinator.

Musungu will battle out with Jubilee Party candidate, Macdonald Mariga.
