Sunday September 8, 2019-Detectives from Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) have said they have enough evidence to send Nairobi Governor, Mike Sonko to jail.

On Wednesday this week, Sonko was summoned to EACC headquarters to explain how he awarded a company a Sh 357 million tender to collect garbage in the city.

In the controversial tender, Sonko was awarded a kickback of Sh 20 million that has been traced to one of his many bank accounts.

However according to EACC detectives, Sonko will be arrested once he names the Deputy Governor.

Nairobi County has been running without a deputy since Polycarp Igathe resigned in January on grounds that he could not earn Sonko's trust.

Now President Uhuru Kenyatta has told Sonko to name his deputy as fast as possible to avert a crisis once he is arrested over misappropriation of public money.

“He will be arrested once he names his deputy,”said an EACC source, who requested a condition of anonymity.
