Wednesday, September 11, 2019 - Victor Kinuthia, the Citizen TV reporter who was ridiculed after he fumbled live on air while covering the arrest of Kiharu MP, Ndindi Nyoro, has landed a new role.
Kinuthia, who had been a reporter at Inooro TV, a 24 hr Kikuyu vernacular statin owned by Royal Media Services, will now be reporting during the Citizen TV’s Sema na Citizen Show that airs every day from 10am to 1pm.
This comes after senior journalists rallied behind him and vowed to mentor and polish his journalistic skills after he was savagely trolled.
Besides the new role which is more like a promotion as he will get the much needed exposure and chance to work with experienced journalists, Kinuthia revealed that he landed an interview with BBC World Service radio in London.
Taking to Facebook, Kinuthia wrote:
“After trending top tweets, BBC World Service radio in London gave me a call asking for an interview from me in regards to why am trending. My story of encouragement will be hitting the airwaves across the world in 2hrs time. Stay tuned n be blessed for the continued support,”
Initially, Kinuthia revealed that the trolls nearly broke his spirit and he considered giving up on his journalism career but now it seems that this is the best thing that could have happened to him.
