Saturday September 28, 2019-Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI), George Kinoti and Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Noordin Haji on Tuesday toured Enyali in Kitui County amid tension between Somali and Kamba communities.
The two were accompanied by Inspector General Hillary Mutyambai during a fact finding mission following a viral audio clip of Governor Charity Ngilu who allegedly incited the Kamba community against the Somalis.
Haji and Kinoti established there were no permanent residence destroyed nor camel killed at Enyali Sub County contrary to claims going round on social media.
"The mission established that following an inter county security meeting, herders who had illegally invaded Kitui were asked to leave after adequate notice to calm rising tension between the two communities in the area. This was done in orderly and friendly manner,
"It was further established that there is no inter community animosity or conflict and no camel had been shot or killed and that the two communities co-exist peacefully," Haji said in his Twitter account.
Sources said Ngilu might be arrested any time from now for inciting Kambas against Somalis
