Wednesday September 4, 2019 - KANU Chairman, Gideon Moi, has dealt the Ekuru Aukot-led Punguza Mzigo referendum bid a severe blow after he threw his weight behind former Prime Minister Raila Odinga-led Building Bridges Initiative.
Speaking during a meeting with delegates from Garissa County yesterday, Moi, who is also the Baringo Senator, declared support for BBI saying it is good for the unity of the country.
He urged Kenyans to embrace BBI’s recommendations as it serves President Uhuru Kenyatta’s positive agenda for the country.
“The country has to decide what brings the element of inclusivity and betterment for Kenyans,” stated Gideon.
The Punguza Mzigo referendum bid, which has already received the first endorsement from Uasin Gishu County Assembly, is also indirectly supported by Deputy President William Ruto and his allies.
On the other hand, President Uhuru Kenyatta supports BBI and has also ordered his CSs and PSs to implement BBI projects.
