Tuesday September 17, 2019-National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale has heaped praises on the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.
The Garissa Township lawmaker was once a member of the party and ally of party leader Raila Odinga, before decamping to Deputy President William Ruto's United Republican Party.
Speaking on Monday, Duale lauded the ODM party as one of the strongest in Kenya.
The vocal politician noted that he left the party due to intolerance, but admitted that it remains a major political side in the nation, alongside the ruling Jubilee party.
“ODM and Jubilee are the strongest parties in Kenya now. I was a member and I have memories of its former headquarters. But some of us left because of intolerance," he said.
He called upon the party leadership to come up with better ways of solving conflicts, and holding primaries without violence.
The remarks came as the party moved out of its Lavington premises-Orange House-which was owned by Raila's former aide Caroli Omondi.
